THAT WHICH IS LEFT IS LOST
Palliative care physician Chris believes that burning a letter when he was eleven resulted in his father’s solitary death, and when new patient Madeline Tailor arrives in hospital stating she deserves to die alone Chris is compelled to act.
He finds three people from Madeline’s past all suffering the consequences of her lies, betrayal and blackmail. Then, as Chris’ childless marriage deteriorates because he cannot consider adoption, Madeline discovers the secret that would destroy it and suddenly he is at risk of losing everything: his job, his marriage and even his unborn child.
When his wife appears at Madeline’s bedside Chris has no choice but to accept Madeline’s advice even knowing she has ruined the lives of so many before.
A story that explores connections between people and how their impact on our lives can echo long after the relationships end.

Liz Abbott used to be a spy, now she’s PA to an interior designer and favourite Aunt to her 5-year-old niece. Dismissed by The Agency for getting a bit too close to arms dealer Armand Bishop in her four years undercover, she was the one who finally lured him into their trap.
In the five years since, Liz has settled into ordinary life but a mysterious envelope soon changes that: her spy alter is being reactivated, but by who and for what purpose?
When Liz’s sister and niece are taken, and Liz is framed as Armand’s accomplice, she’s no longer sure who she can trust. With her family still in danger, the only way out is to escape with the criminal she once loved and lead him straight to them.
Can Liz trust him, or is someone else using her family as pawns in a much more dangerous game?
A gripping spy thriller packed with twists and deception.

THE MEMORIAL TREE
& Other Short Stories
A man buys his wife roses he knows she will not appreciate; a young woman remembers a vital detail she cannot share; a mother finally sees her daughter’s true identity. All of the stories within The Memorial Tree examine how we react to loss, be it through remembrance, fear or acceptance.
What a beautiful collection of short stories! The author has a clear, mature voice and conveys each story in a way that makes you immediately engage with the characters – a real achievement when some of the stories are so short. A lovely read that I would definitely recommend.

Read my winning short story – A Strong Word – in Writing Magazine here.
It’s a gritty, difficult story of a toxic mother-daughter relationship that tackles a situation where child abuse has been condoned or accepted.
